     A couple of years ago, we were approached by several concerned alumni of WRHS wishing to locate some of the past games of Demon Football on film.  We did some research to locate these past games.  It became apparent that something needed to be done to preserve this important part of WRHS history.  From what we were able to find out, the games were filmed from about 1967 to 1990 with 16mm film.  With the advent of the VHS camcorder, games were filmed from 1990 to 2003 in the VHS/ VHS-C format.  The Demons switched to Digital format from the 2004 season onward. 

     As you may or may not be aware of, 16mm and VHS film does not last forever.  It definitely does not last long if not stored in a perfect environment.  We became concerned that this important part of history would be lost forever!  Thus began the Historical Preservation Project of locating, cataloging, and converting these vital pieces of history to digital format.  Sadly, over the years, many games have been misplaced, lost, or whatever.  Many of the games we have in possession from the 1990s onward to 2002 are because of the graciousness of Fred Wilson who for many years filmed the games for the coaches and donated those game films for this project.  If by the off-chance that you are in possession of a copy of any of the missing games, please contact us so we may arrange to convert and preserve those particular games.

The Demon Football Historical Preservation Project has proven thus far to be quite the aggressive yet satisfying adventure.  Lessons learned to date are:

1.  This is by no means a process that will be completed quickly!

2.  This is going to be an expensive project.

3.  There is an interest in WRHS History.
